You Two

This is my entry for this months Scrap the Boys challenge showing our boys eating and what little boys do not like icecream. When I take Tom and Percy swimming the only way I can get them out of the water is to offer an icecream.

What a gorgeous sketch by Rikki G. for this months Scrap the Girls challenge. I don't have many girls in my life so this was a lovely challenge for me.

How many of us have a box of stamps and never use them?  Well I have decided to concentrate on using my stamps this month so hope you like what I have done. The photo is the only one we have of my mother as a young girl. c.1925

BOO!

The Scrapping Outback  "White with a Twist" November challenge was to use all the colours in this photo as well as the usual piece of chipboard.

I thought these colours  were really suited to a Halloween LO so I searched through my photos  and found this one taken in America in 2002.

For The PINK Ladies

For the Kraft Plus November Challenge we were to be inspired by Pink, the artist. I did some research on her tattoos and found that she has 25 plus and that each one tells a story. So I used her tattoos as my inspiration as well as a title from one of her albums to complete this entry. The photos were taken in Japan on our recent holiday and sent to Shelley McLean and Tracy Kielty as gifts, as you all know they just love the colour pink.
Making the tattoo background was a great way to use up all those old rub-ons in my stash.

Dream

Last weekend I attended the My2angels annual Scrapbooking Retreat where I was surrounded by very talented ladies. Several of us decided to enter the  Scrap the Girls July challenge. The inspiration was this mood board and sketch.

This is my take.

My Brother

I decided to create my own background using mixed media and the colours of the July challenge for Scrap the boys. This is my first attempt at mixed media and I am pretty chuffed with the results.
I began by using a variety of the gelato orange and yellow tones which I slightly melded with a damp brush. I then added a pieces of lace, ribbon, paper, washi tape, doilies, tissue paper and gyprock tape to create texture. This was then sealed with a coat of gel medium. I added some masked dots with texture paste and sprinkled them with two tones of orange embossing powder and dried with then heat gun. I light mist with Heidi Swap  Rose, Peach and Citron colour shine completed the background. The papers are from Basic Greys May 2010 Page of the Month Kit.

Play

The Kraft Plus July challenge requires a 'Mustard Explosion' using a Kraft background, inspiration from the photo and yellow paint. I chose the photo because of the distinct colour match. Yellow paint was mixed with the texture paste used to create the dotty background.

Amazing Journey

I love the June Blog Challenges hosted by Charms Creations. It is so easy to scroll through and choose your challenges for the month.I chose something different  when taking on the http://http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au// as I had no idea what Kraft paper was. I had to get a lesson from Anne Patterson and also found it difficult to buy. However I managed to get some and here is my take on their challenge:
  • Must be on a Kraft background
  • Circles
  • Animal prints

Kraft Cardstock
Chocolate and Craft Zebra Cardstock
Scrapmats Chipboard and Butterfly Slide
Fabscap Travel Title
3D Stempel-Farbu - Walnut
Crafts Tool - Metallic Gilding Flakes
Raffia

Lucky Boy

It is a long time since I have entered any challenges so I hope you like this one of Tommy done for June's  "Scrap the Boys"  We look after Tom each Tuesday and when the weather is warm he loves a swim at Southbank and the only way we can get him out of the water is to bribe him with an
icecream.
