My Girls

When I started scrapbooking I focused on capturing memories for my grandsons. My early work consisted mostly of cutting and sticking. I have decided it is now time to experiment with new mediums and ideas and what better way than to start entering some challenges. So this is my entry for the August Purple Pumpkin
challenge which required the following recipe.
1. Paint
2. Use a button
3. Add some twine
4. Include some fancy cutting
5. Spray ink
6. A flower
7. A doiley (from Purple Pumpkin of course)
8.Use 2 different alphas in the title
As promised I have experimented with embossing powder and stamping, made buttons using washi tape and flowers from crepe paper.  My sister Pam Thorburn has a tutorial for these flowers on her blog.

Lucas Turns 6

While we were away this year Lucas had his 6th birthday. His Mario party was a great hit with him remarking 'that was the best birthday ever. When is my next birthday?' The Mario Games store also did very well out of it also!

Fancy That Scrapbooking Retreat -August 2012

I had a fabulous time at the Fancy That Scrapbooking Retreat.  Caught up with some old faces, tried some new things and completed many layouts.  The following layout, "Family Time" of Lucas and Noah is my favourite. Sometimes "less  really is more". Hope you like it!

Thomas Peter Day Arrives

My fourth grandson arrived on Sunday 22nd July and this layout is of the new family. Dad Dan, Mum Ang, big brother Percy and Thomas at 3 hours of age.

Number 3 Grandson

The retreat gave my some time to catch up with some layouts of Percy, my two and a half year old cute grandson. Here are two layouts of him specifically. "Very Tweet" has a background using a template and modelling paste introduced to me by Anne Patterson and Renee Iverson - Thanks Ladies. You can expect to see more of this in the future as I have just invested in a few templates of my own.

Fancy That Scrapbooking Challenge

Our Retreat fee included a beautiful challenge kit of  papers and  embellishments from "Bella". I didn't manage a place in the challenge but was able to complete the following layouts with the kit and still have heaps left over.

Scrapping the Boys

I recently bought a whole lot of matching boy papers and embellishments from My2Angels which have made it very easy to scrap my gorgeous grandsons. The following are some of the results.

Getting back into my Scrapbooking

It has been a long time since I have been serious about my scrapping which is a shame as along with my experimental cooking it satisfies my creative urge. I intend to update my blog, try some new ideas and experiment with some new mediums. I have recently completed this one of Noah (all grown up) using some old techniques and stash.
