Cherish the Memories

This is my take on the CSI - 39 Challenge. I loved the colours nominated and just happened to have some left overs from the Mismatched collection which I thought were pretty spot on with the colours given.
For the evidence I included a rubon flourish and lots of little bits n' pieces and the journal has been completed in the little booklet.
Here are some close-ups.

Big Boys N' Toys - Charms 123 Challenge

This is my entry for the 123 Charms Challenge which required the colour grey, some metal and the word either men or man. The cardstock is a grey which has been sanded back to expose the grid. Some chicken wire from the garage forms the base for the photo. Papers are "Authentique'" a fabulous range of grungy boy papers and embellishments. The bike has been cut using my Cricut. Thanks for looking.

Our Mum - Stuck?! Sept Challenge

Stucksketches provided a great sketch for this challenge. I have chosen to keep it mellow to reflect the passing years as my mum nears her 90th birthday. I dug out the K & C papers from my stash, used a stencil for the rose climber wall, added some Gesso for texture, embossed it with some Zing then cut it out so I could thread the climbing rose through it. The gorgeous cane chair is from Scrapmatts. The lace reflects some of the curtaining that would have been in her home in the past. When I cropped the photo to fit I cut off a branch of rose coloured bougainvillea so I cut it out and overlayed it onto the photo. I think this links the colour of the photo back to the layout nicely. What do you think?

Catching the Winter Sun

This month is my first attempt at the White With One Challenge. WW1 is different to other challenges in that it contains a basic colour scheme of white with one other nominated colour for the month with a small amount of black being allowed. As you can see the colour for September is orange and I have used the beautiful Tigerlilly range of papers from Kaiser. The doily is from Purple Pumpkin and the flourish from Scrapmatts. I have used some machine stitching and completed the heading with hand stitching. The ellipses have been run through the Cuttlebug for texture and embossed with opaque and glitter orange Zing.
The photo is of some of my family at Manly on a sunny Brisbane winters morning.
By the way WW1 have a great Candy Giveaway at the moment. So pop over to their site ans check it out.

I'm a Tigers Fan - Scrap the Boys September Challenge

The Scrap The Boys September Challenge was an opportunity for me to use up some of my stash. I started with a Minds Eye page and applied the orange and black paint using a tooth brush. The fan is Elsie (Zoe Click Click) and the chipboard frame from Kaiser Craft. Oddments of alphas complete the layout. Thanks for looking.

Precious Moments

Scrapmats September challenge was to scraplift one of their designers. This is my scraplift of the lovely Renee Iverson'shttp://scrapmatts.ning.com/photo/through-my-eyes?context=user. The photo is of Angie with her new babe Thomas looking out over the water at Manly from her balcony. I tried to make the illusion of her looking through a window. Do you think it works?

Climb - September Challenge for Purple Pumpkin

When I first decided to complete the Purple Pumpkin September sketch challenge I had it in my mind to make my own owls for the embellishments Then my parcel arrived from Purple Pumpkin and a beautiful kit of orange and blue embellishments with lovely owl buttons became the perfect fit for my Basic Grey papers which I had already chosen to match the photo of the boys. I made the little ladder linking the tree branches with some popsicle sticks and added some twine. What do you think?

Building with Lego

I had fun "grunging up" the boys photo for the September sketch challenge from Stucksketches. The background paper is from the Authentique range. The mechanical wheels have been traced from a TCW template and embossed with black Zing. The buttons are made using washy tape and I also added some cute dotty red washy tape to compliment the photo. Washers and hooks were found in our garage and embossed  also with the black Zing. Some kitchen string was used to link some of the mechanicals. Hope you like it.
