Together

This is a project I did at a Cricut class last week. I joined this class because I do not get enough use out of my Cricut due to my lack of confidence and patience. Well I learnt a lot and am anxious to get using it regularly but I fear our OS trip will set me back again. The photo is of Olivia and Angela atAngie's wedding.

Lucas

A stamping project from the retreat. It is quite amazing that everything started out as white and has been decorated by stamping. The same colour ink was used for all pieces with different techniques changing the resultant colour. The real colour is a plum as shown on the stamped dots on the large outer circle. When covered with kindy glitz it turned a soft pink and when covered with dimensional magic on the title it turned a rich red. l

Love

This was a project delivered at the retreat. There were four in all. This is Danny and Ang taken at Scotty McLeans wedding New Years Eve 2008.

Cheese

This was my entry for the second challenge which had to include two photos and a monogram. I had to ask what a monogram was. You will note that most of my photos were done in sepia as I prepared a whole lot to complete the family album.

Sing

At the retreat it was optional to purchase for $50 a challenge kit and enter one or all of the three challenges. The kit was a pack of Linne Bell papers and embellishments and really good value. This was my entry for one of the challenges.

Love

This was a quicky done with more left over product. I really like the simplicity of it as well as the gorgeous photo of Lucas.

Me

This was done with left over product from retreat projects and I was experimenting with glimmer mist and masking. This photo was taken when I arrived home from our holiday December last year. The Queensland weather forced me to have a lot of the long hair cut off soon after.

Lucas

This is a project from the retreat. It is presented in a frame approx 50cm square. Papers and embellishments were given to us to complete the project but I did not use them. I purchased a Basic Grey Lime Ricky pack as they are so gorgeous and suitable for kids photos and rooms. I was not able to go too over the top as it is for Olivia to hang in her new house and she is not onto tiss. Anyway it got her approval as I am now to complete one for Noah.

Scrapbookcity Retreat

I have been busy selecting and printing photos for the Scrapbookcity Retreat which is to be held this weekend commencing Thursday evening at Brookfield just out of Brisbane. This time we were given a sneak preview of projects to be done so we are able to choose our photos to suit beforehand. There is plenty of spare time so I have prepared many photos for some extra projects. I will upload my projects early next week for you to view.

The CreaTive Type Challenge No 14

After reviewing Pam's blog (Waltzing Through Life) I was inspired to enter the Creative Type Challenge No. 14. The challenge was to use the @ (at) symbol. I had the photos of Lucas at the Southbank water park ready for my next project.
I started by stamping the background with white acrylic paint and bubble wrap to match the bubbles on the water equipment.
Making the @ symbol was a challenge in itself when I decided I wanted one big enough to use as a frame.

Easter

Another class as Scrapbook City. The photo was taken at Rainbow Beach where Liv Chris and the boys were guests of Belinda and family for Easter 2008.

Magic Moments

This was done at a class at the last Expo in Brisbane. All the shapes and letters including the grass have been done with the Cricut Expression. I have one but do not use it as much as I should as I am usually in a hurry and am too impatient to take the time to use it.

Pam, another one of Carol Jansens classes. Isn't she clever?

Mellow Yellow

Another very early one. I did this to test the technique I used on the letters which I read in a magazine. ie paint the letters with dimensional magic, when nearly dry dip a sewing needle in paint and then on the dimensional magic. This causes the marbeling effect.

Cool Cats

I have been holding back on putting a lot of my early ones on line but I have now decided to blog all LOs so I have a record then I can pass the albums onto the family. I thought I was so clever when I did this one, making my own embellishment and letters!

Handle with Care

Lucas - this was one of my first attempts. It is made from very cheap paper from a discount store which I have cut and edged with lace.

Mini Album for Noah

This is my first attempt at a mini album. A bit ambitious as I included some clear pages which I have never used. I have enrolled in a clear album class at the next Scrapbook expo which is held here on the June long weekend. I used up old photos and bits and pieces and put together some message for Noah. He was very proud of it and took it off to Kindy for morning talk. When I ask him what does his book say? He says, "Respect your Daddy and love your Mummy"
